In the fields of semiconductors, photovoltaics, laboratories, scientific research, etc., special gas systems are essential, and special gas systems are composed of various gas devices. The gas pressure stored in the commonly used gas cylinders and containers can reach up to 15 MPa. This high-pressure gas is divided and filled in the pipeline system, far exceeding the pressure range of use. At this time, we need a pressure reducer. A pressure reducer can reduce the input high-pressure gas to the actual pressure range for normal process application.
1. Medium and purity of gas
Regarding gas purity, usually if the gas is 5 to 9, we would recommend using BA grade stainless steel material. If there are more than 5 9s, we would recommend using EP grade stainless steel material. This is all based on considering the compatibility of gas media and materials when making choices.
2. Classified by the type of gas being transported
Oxygen pressure regulator;
Hydrogen pressure regulator;
Acetylene pressure reducer;
Steam pressure reducer;
Propane pressure reducer;
Gas pressure reducer;
Carbon dioxide pressure reducer;
Pressure reducers can be divided into single-stage and two-stage types according to their structural device types.
According to its own structure, it can be divided into:
(1) Positive pressure regulator;
(2) Reverse pressure regulator;
(3) Direct pressure reducer
(4) Command type pressure regulator
(5) Diaphragm pressure reducer
(6) Plunger type pressure reducer
(7) Diaphragm box S pressure regulator
We often encounter users who have doubts about the price of pressure reducers, and today we have listed many concerns that users have.
Why is there a huge price difference?
For example, a common situation is that nitrogen pressure reducers used on steel cylinders, with the same function, are priced from tens to thousands of yuan by different manufacturers. The price difference is really surprising to outsiders. When purchasing or inquiring, you may know a little about the "secret" of the price difference, but it may only be the tip of the iceberg. Now let's explore the whole picture of this iceberg.
(1) Material reasons:
Reminder: Due to processing technology and material reasons, the stainless steel series can be used in some corrosive gas environments, high cleanliness requirements, as well as in combination with some chromatography, mass spectrometry, liquid phase, atomic absorption and other instruments and equipment, providing customers with more stable and cleaner usage requirements.
(2) Brand bonus
There are high and low brands of pressure reducer manufacturers, and the increase in operating costs and overall quality control costs is reflected in the product unit price.
(3) Service reasons
High quality companies provide comprehensive consulting, selection, and technical support anytime and anywhere, and these services are more or less reflected in the overall quality and product prices of the company.
2. Regarding the actual pressure range and safety issues of the pressure reducer
picture
3. Regarding the service life and replacement of pressure reducers
Excluding the effects of human damage and accumulation of gas impurities, stainless steel pressure reducers generally last for more than two years, while pressure gauges installed on pressure reducers are generally effective for one year according to CMC measurement standards and inspection recommendations from metrology bureaus. However, this does not mean that the pressure gauge needs to be replaced after one year, and it can be determined based on the actual situation of the user.
No, it's far from enough. To choose a suitable pressure reducer, we also need the following data:
Medium and purity of gas
Regarding gas purity, usually if the gas is 5 to 9, we would recommend using BA grade stainless steel material. If there are more than 5 9s, we would recommend using EP grade stainless steel material. This is all based on considering the compatibility of gas media and materials when making choices.
Flow required for the manufacturing process
You need to know the flow rate you need, because the flow rate of the pressure reducer is directly related to the pressure! So you need to know the CV value of the pressure regulator. Many times, when the equipment behind the customer is turned on, the output pressure gauge will drop a lot, even directly to the 0 position, which is an obvious indication that the flow rate of the pressure reducer is too small.
At first, the flow rate was sufficient, but later it became insufficient because the intake pressure decreased and the flow rate decreased. The flow rate of the pipeline after the pressure reducer is different whether it is emptied or pressurized. So when calculating traffic, these factors should be taken into account, including traffic under extreme conditions. In addition, different gases have different molecular densities, and the parameters for calculating flow rate are also different.
Regarding the interface
Normally, the flow capacity of the interface should be greater than that of the valve core. So, when converting or expanding interfaces, both traffic and pressure issues need to be considered. There are also various specifications and sizes of interfaces, including threads, card sleeves, and welding, VCR, Flanges and other factors need to be taken into consideration and confirmed clearly.Also consider the convenience of disassembly; Easy installation, welding also needs to consider temperature resistance, joint pressure bearing capacity, and so on; Another thing to consider is the direction of air intake and exhaust, which many people overlook and fail to take into account.
Entry and exit pressure
Installation method
The installation method is very important and requires great attention. Firstly, confirm the size and installation position of the pressure reducer, including panel installation, base installation, pipeline support installation, box installation, etc. Often during the installation process, various size issues are encountered without prior consideration, which can easily lead to helplessness. Accurate installation can be simulated and assembled with a 3D diagram in advance.
Whether the pressure reducer is equipped with a pressure gauge and how many pressure gauges it should have depends on the design plan! Usually, for those who connect steel cylinders, it is necessary to bring an inlet and outlet pressure gauge (high pressure displays the gas pressure of the cylinder, low pressure displays the usage pressure). Typically, for pressure reducers that connect steel cylinders, it is best to add a switch valve at the outlet, which is more convenient for users to operate. For those connected to pipelines, the high-pressure part can be equipped with an inlet and outlet pressure gauge, while the end pressure reducer can only be equipped with an outlet pressure gauge. For integrated panels, the pressure regulator may not come with a pressure gauge. Depending on the plan, the pressure gauge can be distributed separately, and comprehensive consideration is sufficient.
